According to the theory of soft determinism, humans can be both free and determined as the soft determinists feel that there is no disjuncture between the two. They advocate that if something is caused, it does not necessarily mean that it has been coerced and when it is not, even when the person may have reasons behind his action, still he exercises his own choice. Thus they rejected the freewill-determinist issue as a pseudo-problem.
